Its BACK and its bigger than ever with more ruffles than Beau Nash’s going-out shirt. Bath in Fashion 2016 kicks off on 18th April in the glorious city where style has been in fashion since the Georgians came to party to the backdrop of crescents and parades. Street fashion was born and raised here and though there weren’t any Nike Airs, their bold and radical garments were the historical equivalent. Bath has fashion in its blood and its well-worth a few days to experience – and no better time than Bath in Fashion week.
Is this your first time ?? Expect incredible runway shows, talks with leading experts, international magazine editors and artists as well as superb in-store excitement where discounts and pop up bars will enhance your retail experience. Of course the reason Bath In Fashion is the biggest event outside London, is the haul of big names from design and fashion royalty, LIVE in the city to share their incredible journey through this most exciting and fabulous area of the arts. Whats not to love ?
As well as the great discounts on offer in the high street and many independent stores, throughout the 18th -24th April, you can get up close and personal with some incredible names from the global fashion elite; Erdem, Julien Macdonald, Zandra Rhodes, Barbara Hulanicki (and many more…) and listen to their gems of insight. They’ll be in conversation with leading journos from the international style press and you cant fail to be inspired by their knowledge and talent (and amused by some great behind-the-scenes stories if previous years are anything to go by !)
In another of my #adventuresinstyling I am starting at the Fashion Museum today and then hitting up the incredible shops that Bath has to offer so I can get a head start on Spring 16. Trends will be noted and shared, fear not. I am sure the History of fashion in 100 Objects exhibition will give me plenty of inspiration…… not sure I can rock a bonnet but the ruffles and florals will do just nicely for starters.
