Crackers, candles and a centrepiece? Every table, every year, there is some festive styling to make sure the table which hosts the main meal of the season looks the part. Aside from the tree, the table deserves some trimming along with the rest of the house.
Depending on your tastes, Kitsch, Scandi, and Modern/ Contemporary are probably the most common of Christmas themes on the interiors front right now.
I have given most a go I am happy to say (and dealt with the disapproving looks of visiting relatives) but this year find myself enjoying something a little more trad. We have done monochrome and metallic, colourful and kitsch and now are looking forward to a fairly traditional Christmas set up.
The recent return to our love of nature and the outdoors means greenery and foliage are readily available with garlands and wreaths in the most amazing faux and real variations. Love a bit of eucalyptus – the colour should be a Farrow & Ball shade!
An essential part of any festive table is the Christmas crackers and my usual quest is to find something a)in a gorgeous colourway and b)not full of utter TAT. It seems only one of these is possible. I have spent HOURS making our own and just do not have the time (or any patience) for that again..I used up all my Christmas spirit in one day.
This year the solution has presented itself, the divine HollyBush London have solved the cracker crisis. Beautifully crafted and filled with the most delightful treats (and a handmade beautiful crown you can keep) these crackers are a highlight not an afterthought of your Christmas table.
“Our exclusive Christmas crackers are beautifully handcrafted, here to add a special touch of love and luxury to the time-old tradition of pulling crackers on Christmas day. Holly Bush crackers are designed, filled and packaged to perfection” say Sonia and Tracy who started the business last year.
Like me, they wanted something less cheesy and disposable and something more personal, something high-quality, something that contained gifts that people would actually want to keep. This year we have the delicious luxury chocolates, next year, depending on the relatives, I may be going for the gin-bauble filled crackers!
If you love your interiors and home styling then Christmas is such an enjoyable opportunity to dress up the house and have fun with decorations whatever your style and taste. I cant wait to get cracking (pun entirely intended) and look forward to sharing on Instagram with others who I know love this season as much as I do.
